The Cathedral

Team project at AIE. We were assigned the theme 'scary', and had to collaboratively build a scene to the theme. I built the architecture (except windows), pews, and the plinths for the statue. The other prop pieces were done by my teammates. I also ended up doing the lighting, which was a rather hurried hackjob. The final piece turned out pretty well, although I wish I'd had more time to tweak the renders, as they turned out unfortunately noisy.

Probably my favorite render, despite the dynamics issues with the light, and the annoying amount of noise. At least it shows off a bit of the work I did on the arches!

For all the difficulties, I'm pretty proud of the brick and tile textures I built in Substance Designer.

The low-angle shot. Also, the angle that made me re-UV the pews entirely, since it very obviously showed off all my mistakes in orienting the wood-grain.

An earlier render, under pretty rough lighting, while I was still experimenting with the color and value of the textures in Substance Designer.
